The Unity Foundation’s mission is to support sustainable, mission-driven nonprofits through capacity-building initiatives, programmatic grantmaking and nonprofit management education. September 2009 ~ Thank you for visiting Unity Foundation, dedicated to helping sustainable mission-driven nonprofit organizations throughout Maine.Due to a significant project with one of our publicly supported organizations, Good Will-Hinckley, Unity Foundation will not be accepting or reviewing any new grant applications or letters of inquiry until further notice.This does not apply to the Foundation's Opportunity Grant program. Applications for up to $250 will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis. Please follow this link to the Opportunity Grant application form. OVERVIEWThe Unity Foundation is a public charity (501c3/509a3) founded in 2000 that awards grants to two designated (publicly supported) nonprofits (Unity College and Good Will-Hinckley) and other nonprofits engaged in collaborative work with them (see Funding). ![]() Mount View School Complex ~ Thorndike, Maine Opened September 2009 The Unity Foundation is committed to building the management capacity of its designated organizations and other nonprofits that are working in collaboration with them. Helping Maine Students Become PhilanthropistsUnity Foundation, in collaboration with Jobs For Maine's Graduates, the Maine Community Foundation and UniTel Inc., is embarking on the second year of Jumpstart Our Youth, a program designed to advance youth philanthropy in Maine with the intent to build and strengthen communities through youth involvement. Last year, 3,200 students in more than 60 locations participated, providing $60,000 to support 70+ nonprofit organizations throughout Maine. Read more...
